Plumbing question – mystery water leaks?
I had central heating installed about 1 month ago.
I am having no problems in my flat but there is a shop below me and apparently there is water coming through their ceiling. The shop is below me.
It's coming from 2 places – a slow drip.
The shop is vacant and I can't get hold of the landlord so my builder / plumber can see where the drips are coming from.
The leak has been reported to me by my neighbour who owns a casino which has a storeroom below the shop. She is saying that water is now coming into her store room.
My plumber has been around twice and is saying that the leak can't be from the central heating pipes as the boiler water pressure gauge hasn't dipped in 3 weeks and I still have hot water and radiators.
I just want to check before I get another plumber in to rip up the floor boards, is this right? Can there be a leak from central heating pipes and no reduction in water pressure or performance?
I am mystified.
I agree with other poster who said that you need to contact the building owner, and that the problem is best found and solved from below.
You need to find the landlord of the shop and investigate the leak.
There may be another pipe running through the ceiling , or a condensation problem.
